Comments:

I lived and worked in Mexico City and studied in Guadalajara. I taught in a program under the Model Cities venture, at Sabino High School as a Jobs for Arizona Graduates teacher, at the U of A College of Law as a placement director and publications editor, ran a small business for an entrepreneurial physician and pharmacist, and finished at the Arizona Cancer Center where I wrote curriculum and trained lay health educators on AZ Indian reservations and along the US-Mexico border about cancer prevention/early detection for eleven years. I continue to play piano, study French, cook, write short stories, garden and study my family history. My wonderful husband and I were lucky to meet as we approached "old age" and we were married in 2000.

P.S. I hitchhiked through El Salvador and Guatemale in the back of a truck with an armed guard (as guerillas were already fighting.) I developed pneumonia on the truck and was treated by a great doctor in a little village in Guatemala with out of date antibititocs and lived to tell the tale.

School Story:

I guess the funniest/scariest was being caught fully clothed with Jim Shaffery behind a shower curtain by our venerable speech teacher at an out-of-town speech competition. It was all above board, of course, but our teacher was unconvinced.
