James Hinkle was killed in a car-horse collision on Tanque Verde Road at night. He had taken a (prom?) date home and was headed to his home, as he rounded the curve about where Pantano Road now crosses TV a horse that had gotten out of the corral was in his path and his sports car did not offer much protection from the crash. It was odd that on the day of his funeral the sky was completely clear except for a small dark cloud over his home.

Thanks to Mary W.

Mary thinks this happened in '68-'69-or '70

If anyone has more detailed information, please share it.

That was my memory of the tragic accident, also. I used to play tackle football with Jim and remember being shocked when hearing the news the morning after he was killed. He was a great guy!
