Warren was a creative soul whose interests centered on music, reading and writing even as an 11-year-old, when I met him. At PVHS his crew was on the edge. His stepfather let us drive their Simca sedan up California Highway 1 to Hollywood, Monterrey (Pop Festival), Haight-Ashbury, Tahoe and beyond in June 1967. By ourselves, as 17-year-olds. We were trustworthy, but, hey. Your kids did it, right? We lost contact in later years. After many searches, here is what his sister told me: He published two books in his lifetime, "How to Win at Blackjack" and "Tales from the Geronimo". After many struggles with addiction he went back to school in his last years. He received a bachelor's degree in English from the University of New Mexico. He was a very successful student, editor of a campus journal. He traveled quite alot in Asia and seemed to have turned his life around toward the end... If you haven't read "Tales..." It's an excellent account of his time spent living in that old Tucson landmark when it was occupied by an array of oddball characters.
