Stationed at Ft. Denning (GA), Roger D. Givens, a Chief Warrant Officer Two, died in a UH-1H Huey helicopter crash atop a north Georgia mountain. Roger died along with 6 others - two survived. The rangers had been on a routine training mission when the crash occurred.

Sallie Saltzman (Seymour)

Roger played opposite me in Our Town and I'll never forget my surprise when during a scene onstage one night he "french kissed" me instead of the usual chaste kiss I was supposed to receive. I was taken aback but didn't fall off the ladder. (Is that right, Mr. Burgess?)

unless there were 2 helicopter crashes on that day in that location, my u of alabama teammate and roommate, billy russell , was on that helicopter.
