I believe (I could be mistaken) that the accident occurred in 1971. Stephanie and Lynn Hall were both in the car (a Volkswagon?). I saw Lynn a year or so later but we did not discuss the accident.

Stephanie was driving a VW bus when a car ran a stop sign.
She was in a coma for some days and passed away.
Anyone who knew Stephanie will remember her light hearted laughter, her acceptance of everyone and her overall positive outlook on life. She had no boundaries with reaching out to people of all classes. She was known as the life of any gathering. Her spirit continues to live on in our hearts.

I have such wonderful memories of Stephanie. I remember thinking she was the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen! I remember getting the news of her tragic death soon after I'd finished training with Pan Am and moved to Seattle. I was devastated to hear that Stephanie was gone and that Lynn Hall was in the car with her at the time. A few years later I learned from Steph's little sis, Denise, that Stephanie's mom had a random dream about me as a little girl. Since Mrs. Gannon never knew me until junior high I thought that strange. As we talked some more and she told me where Mrs. Gannon resided, I realized that she lived in the same duplex I lived in with my mom when we first moved to Tucson in 1958. It's as if Stephanie "spoke" to her and told her in a dream. I will never forget that.

I am pretty sure it was Fall of 1973. My mother was working at University Hospital and she called me and said stephanie had been injured in an automobile accident. i think she was driving a volkswagon "bus"
She apparently ran a stop sign in the university area. She was thrown from the car and landed in a tree. She was on life support for a few days and succombed to a massive head injury. I remember flying home for the funeral. Her family was like a second family to me.
Mark and I named our first daughter Stefanie in memory of her and she also died in a tragic small plane accident at the age of 27. (2004)

Lynn Hall (Tavel)

1972

Stephanie and I were in a car accident on Nov.28, 1972 and she died a week later from a brain stem injury. It was quite a shock as things like that didn,t happen in our lives. She and I went through it all together for 13 yrs. Patty Canright spent a lot of time with us. Stephanie had a great outlook on life and was very outgoing. I was very shy which not many people knew because she made up for it. The giggles we had.........We swore we would grow old together in rocking chairs smoking funny stuff.I don't have a rocker yet and don't smoke funny stuff anymore but I was blessed to have had Stephanie for
my friend. She lived a lot in 22 years.
